VLC introduces a new Internship program for Medical Transcription students.


We are pleased to announce a new Internship program available to all VLC Medical Transcription students in our Medical Transcription courses.

When you have completed all required transcription assignments with an average grade of 90% or better, and have successfully completed the medical transcription final examination, you will be entered into a 6 week internship. You will be paid between 2 and 6 cents per line to transcribe medical reports for a national Medical Transcription company. Upon successful completion of the internship and your Medical Transcription course, you will be offered a position with this company.

The VLC has devoted a substantial amount of time and resources into the development of this program. As part of the Internship Program, your work will be proofed to ensure that 98.5% accuracy is maintained. This is only available to participating students and the workload will depend on the volume of transcription needed at the time.

The Internship program "Operation Transcription Storm" from the Virtual Learning Center's Medical Transcription Course is another initiative designed to better your working prospects. Applied in conjunction with the Work Placement Program and Smartechnologies, you will be better trained, working efficiently and faster, now before you even graduate.

Here are some of the requirements for the program:

• high speed Internet access (no Satellite Internet)
  
• current anti-virus with auto updates
  
• be willing to use IM - Instant Messaging (Yahoo or MSN)
  
• all current Microsoft Windows updates
  
• Microsoft Word 2000 or 2003 (not 2002 or 2007)
• Windows Vista not yet supported

NOTE: Tuition must be paid in full before participating in the Internship Program.
